The fabric is a laminated and treated fabric which makes the fabric breathable from inside and water proof from outside known under generic term "vapour barrier" fabrics. These jackets made from 3 layers sandwiched vapour barrier fabrics are best suited for the Himalaya treks to give you comfort from rain or snow and also to protect you from the windchill.
